Chicago has its own tragic lullaby
Sirens become the soundtrack to the city
As your hear them speed by
Through the day and night
Year after year
The sound starts to fade
And you no longer hear
the loud cry of the ambulance
The cars whizzing by
It all Starts to blend in with
The trees, wind, birds, sky
No numbing silence
But no peace of mind
The city plays it's lullaby
As we try to sleep and unwind

back to today
